Sir John Allison entered the Royal Air Force College Cranwell and was commissioned in 1964. On graduation, he won the prize for the best pilot in his entry, also the aerobatic trophy. During his subsequent career, he rose from front line pilot to, ultimately commanding all operational forces of the RAF as Commander-in-Chief of Strike Command, with the rank of Air Chief Marshal.
Between 2006 and 2013 he was a member of the Royal Household, serving as Gentleman Usher to the Sword of State.
He has flown over 100 aircraft types as captain and is still an active pilot.
The aim of his illustrated talk is to entertain, while offering some serious content.
