About fifty members attended the Society’s annual lunch in October. Our speaker was Sir Christopher Ball, former Warden of Keble College, Oxford and then first Chancellor of the University of Derby. Since retirement Christopher has practised what he has called “responsible ageing”. As many as eighty people attended a talk by Status Quo drummer John Coghlan and his wife Gillie organised by the Burford and District Society in September. The couple were interviewed by Nick John, editor of Blues in Britain magazine.
